Our 2025 Conference, 'Where Lightning Struck Twice' focussed on the two battles at Bull Run (or Manassas to all you southerners) and as usual we had a great series of talks from both our US guests and our own ranks. The presentations will be released on our YouTube channel in the run up to our 2026 Conference, which will be about the Vicksburg Campaign.

On Saturday afternoon, the first of our home-grown speakers was Ryan Diamond, who looked at the involvement of European volunteers in the First Battle of Bull Run
Our second home-grown speaker is also one of our most popular. In this talk, Erick Bush looks at the involvement of his home state of Alabama in the two battles.
